Australian fashion brand Jeanswest unveiled a first look at Cotton Australia’s largest woven womenswear collaboration set to launch in stores later this month.
Cotton Australia CEO Adam Kay helped launch the new Jeanswest Australian cotton range this week in Sydney. Before a packed media and fashion industry crowd at the Sydney Opera House, Adam spoke of the strong relationship that has developed between Cotton Australia and Jeanswest, culminating in a beautiful range of women’s Australian cotton clothing (available to purchase from September 19).
“This is a really exciting time for Australian cotton. At the same time our growers are busy planting their crops for the coming season, we’ve also got an extensive range womenswear about to hit the shelves, made from high quality, natural fibre grown by those farmers,” Cotton Australia CEO Adam Kay said.
“Buying Australian Cotton not only means a quality, sustainable product – it also means you’re standing beside farmers, and the 150 local communities they support across Queensland and New South Wales where cotton grows. The Jeanswest team spoke enthusiastically of joining Cotton Australia on a farm tour in Narrabri, northern NSW, as they developed the collection. Travelling to cotton country for further understanding of the industry and its processes, said Lisa Hunter, Womenswear Senior Product Manager for Jeanswest, “We were thrilled to be standing in a cotton field, where it all begins, at the very start of a manufacturing supply chain.”
“This collection is an Australian fashion story, so in designing the product we’ve really worked to ensure there’s something new in this range for every woman, across all ages and body shapes," Lisa said.
The Jeanswest Australian Cotton Womenswear Collection launches on the 19th September in-store and online across Australia and New Zealand and will feature 9 mix fashion styles that work together or separately. Store windows, posters and a range of on-line and social media marketing will accompany the launch in a Jeanswest marketing campaign, promoting Australian cotton to Australian consumers.
