Primary kids learn about red meat sector through virtual excursions

Australian Good Meat is taking a deep-dive into industry practice, sustainability and the food supply chain, through virtual bite-sized experiences designed to connect primary school children directly to farmers!

The Smart Farming Virtual Classroom takes students behind the scenes of many red meat farming operations to better help children understand where their meat comes from, and how it comes to be sold at the butchers and in supermarkets.

Hosted on zoom these free 30-45 minute sessions provide a perfect introduction to key topics such as food production, sustainable farming practices and the types of farming technology being used.

Designed to link with the 2021 Term 4 curriculum, primary students will have the opportunity to talk directly with a farmer, complete quizzes and importantly learn more about where their food comes from, all from the classroom or at home!

Not only will students get the experience of talking to a farmer in real time, they’ll be able to make the connection as to how their meat arrives from the paddock to their plates, equipping the next generation on how supply chains work, and hopefully inspiring the next generation of ag workers!

You can book a session, online.
